Six Rivers “Paradise Moon” Coffee Porter”: For someone who doesn’t drink coffee, I sure do like my coffee-infused beers. The nose is loaded with coffee. It has kind of a gritty, earthy smell to it with a hint of chocolate. Slight hop aroma. Roasty. The taste has lots of roasted coffee. Not getting much cocoa on the palate. Getting a lingering coffee bitterness with roasted malt. Slick mouthfeel with little carbonation and a dry, semi-sticky finish. A fairly simple beer. Of the coffee-infused beers I’ve had I can say I don’t particularly care for the Kona coffee used in this. It’s pushing the roast and bitterness envelope a little too much. I prefer my coffee beers to be a little more robust.
